About us

Despite the success of public broadband, the growing need for robust and affordable broadband across the country, and the availability of billions of dollars of federal and state grant money, until now there has not been an advocacy organization that works to ensure that public broadband can grow unimpeded by anti-competitive barriers and have access to the same funding as private actors.

The American Association for Public Broadband (AAPB) is that organization. Founded by state and local broadband officials, AAPB is a 501 (c)(6) non-profit organization that will build a diverse membership of public broadband networks from around the country, and advocate in support of municipal broadband and local choice at the federal, state, and local levels.
